Simplify!

I was driving home the other day and I thought back to an afternoon a couple years ago when I took my kids to visit my cousin. It was lunch time and she was just pulling homemade bread out of the oven. We all sat down for a huge slice of hot bread with butter and honey and some cantaloupe and strawberries. I remember her kids gobbling it up and running back outside to play. I sat there and thought - Wow! Your kids eat this for lunch and love it. What about the fruit snacks and chips, etc. etc.? And no picky eaters!

When I got home I told Jeremy that I wanted to start making bread and feeding the kids bread with butter and honey and fruit for lunch this summer. Healthy and simple! And a lot less hassle at the grocery store.

I was so excited today when the bread turned out great and Macy couldn't wait to eat it. And yes, Macy, Lauren and I had hot bread with butter and honey and apples and chocolate milk for lunch today!

Thank you Spring for the inspiration and the delicious recipe!

A shower for Baby Kate

I was so overwhelmed last week by the fun baby shower my girlfriends threw for baby Kate and by the darling gifts everyone literally showered us with. Isn't this diaper cake so cute! I can't imagine taking it apart to use the diapers.

Ashley was in school and didn't get to come, so when she got home she insisted we lay out all the gifts for her to see. On baby girl #4 I would never have dreamed of getting so many darling gifts. I even got a new outfit for me for after Kate comes - it is beautiful and looks so comfortable. I can't wait to be able to try it on!

One of my girlfriends makes these darling outfits and sells them on etsy. I am looking forward to getting something from her for the other girls in the same fabric and taking their picture this fall.

Thank you, thank you, thank you to everyone who came!

Easter

We had such a great Easter. The girls looked so cute in their dresses. We went up to Utah to see family and came home with a HUGE box of candy. The girls loved seeing everyone and were spoiled. Nanna was brave enough to dye Easter eggs with the girls. Something I probably wouldn't have attempted at home.
