Friday afternoon fun

I know we aren't even in October yet, but the great fall weather and the leaves changing colors have got me so excited for Halloween! Last Friday Ashley, Lauren and I went with Nanna (Jer's mom) out to Gardner Village and it was so much fun looking around at all the witches. We had a great time. There are ducks to feed and a pony ride if $3 is ok (we didn't see the ponies until we were leaving so maybe next time). They also have a great bakery where we stopped in for a sandwich and a doughnut. I really want to take the girls to a pumpkin patch this year - does anyone know of any good ones near Salt Lake? Or if you know of any other fun places to take the kids this time of year - please let me know.

I also had to post this picture. Every Sunday night after dinner Papa (Jer's dad) always has his ice cream bar and now every Sunday night he graciously shares it with the two vultures who hover until every last bite is gone.

We are down to two weeks and counting until Baby Macy's due date (October 3rd). I am finally getting around to cleaning out her room - it has been the catch all room for stuff I don't know where to put since we moved back. Ashley is very excited and even though I know Lauren may not understand what is about to happen, I think she will be excited too - she has been carrying around a baby doll for the past week or so and asking me to help wrap her in a blanket and change her diaper. I will post pictures as soon as the baby arrives!

Labor day weekend

Every year over labor day weekend Jeremy's mom's family all gets together. For the past few years we have been going to the LC Ranch in Duchesne. We were so bummed last year to miss it while we were in Arizona and made up for it this year. We had so much fun eating way too much good food, playing games all night and just hanging out with everyone.

We spent a great afternoon at Starvation Reservoir riding wave-runners that Jer's aunt and uncle brought up. I even got out for a spin. Then on Sunday we had a laid back day hiking at Moon lake and riding the four-wheelers.

The highlight of the weekend was the gopher snake that Jer caught while he was out on the four-wheeler.

Jer's brother Kory with the snake.

Lauren loved the snake and had no fear getting up as close as she could.

Ashley finally got up the nerve to touch it too.

Jer's family minus his dad who wasn't there: Deanna, Craig & NeKell (just married in July), our family, Kory & Amy.

It was such a great trip and we already can't wait for next year.

Ashley's big week

First of all, I love being back in Utah! I can actually say I was cold this morning when I went out walking - and for me to say that at 81/2 months pregnant is something. I am loving the fall, I love the rain we've been getting and I can't wait for the snow!
Ok, now about Ashley...last week was all about Ashley. She turned 3 this past month and she is now ready to "start learning lots of great stuff" (a direct quote from her).

I had to add these pictures in. For Ashley's birthday she and Lauren got camelbacks from both grandma's. The girls love them!

So this past week Ashley got a new pink leotard with a matching ballet skirt and ballet slippers. She was so excited she wore it all for days before starting dance. Luckily my mom had given Ash a fairy dance skirt so Lauren could join in the twirling fun too.

Ashley also started preschool this past week. On Friday afternoon we went for a short orientation. She was disappointed when we got ready to leave and said to her teacher, "but I haven't learned anything yet." Her teacher assured her that the real learning would start next week when the moms don't come.

And last of all Ashley got to sign up for soccer. She can't wait to start next week. I am sure I will have some fun pictures to post once it gets started. Whew! I didn't know a 3 year old could have such a busy schedule.

I finally did it!

I kept telling myself that I would start a blogsite once things calmed down after the baby came, but I realized tonight that once the baby comes it may never calm down again. So here you have it - the Peterson Page. I hope you all come see it often and leave comments so that I can stay in touch with everyone once I join the ranks of mothers who have been wiped out by #3.

We really are exited and anxiously awaiting our 3rd little girl - yes Jeremy is busy honing his survival skills after coming out of a family of all boys. He's been a great sport encouraging our "dancing princesses" and taking time out for an occasional tea party.

Well - I've spent way too much time trying to figure this all out tonight. I will work on posting some fun pictures from the past few weeks in the next couple of days!
